I guess I'll just have to shell out the $$$ and try it out. I think it should solve my problem because I don't find the stock seat *unbearable*, but after about 100 km ride I find that I have some stiffness. I think the gel will just take the edge off enough. Plus, (no offense intended to anyone) I can't stand the way the stock seat looks. The gel seat isn't striking either, but it's still a vast improvement over the looks of the stocker.
I will definitely post my results once I've given it a good trial!
